Daily Fantasy Baseball DFS Values – March 31

Madison Bumgarner

Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh Pirates

Jeff Samardzija’s numbers last year weren’t that bad overall despite an ERA over 5.00 in the second half of the season. There are still a lot of strikeouts in this arm and he did pretty well against the Pirates last year (3.00 ERA). The only guy that really owns him is Andrew McCutchen so it’s picking one or the other today. Russell Martin didn’t fare overly well but can take his walks so I don’t mind him as a catcher option.

Wellington Castillo [C] – $4693

Francisco Liriano had a pretty good year in 2013 but was another pitcher who regressed a lot in the second half (though not near as bad as Samardzija). He had excellent numbers against the Cubs last year so I wouldn’t mind Liriano as a SP today. As is his M.O. though, it’s far from certain that he pitches as well as he did a year ago.

Francisco Liriano (SP) – $18,133

Russell Martin [C] – $5390

Andrew McCutchen (OF) – $8314
