Dallas Stars at Chicago Blackhawks
It’s… TEUVO TIME.
Get ready to hear that phrase a lot today as the Blackhawks are expected to use their rookie centre Teuvo Teravainen tonight. There is a mountain of expectation ahead for the rookie, which is a lot to ask of a player coming to a contending team for his first NHL game with three weeks left in the season. But hey… TEUVO TIME!
Dallas hosted Winnipeg last night and managed to hang on for a 2-1 win. It was a pretty big win for the Stars as it essentially eliminated the Jets from playoff contention and brought the Stars to within a point of the final wild card spot. As has been the case for the last couple of weeks now, the team used a couple of different wingers for the top line. Valeri Nichushkin played most of the game with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin before Alex Chiasson took over on that line with under 10 minutes left. This kind of mistrust by the coach will really hurt Nichushkin’s DFS value most games.
Chicago has had some bad luck this month and that continued on Sunday night when the team held Nashville to 17 shots, but lost 2-0. Corey Crawford has been exceptional for the team in his last 14 games, though, as he’s posted a .940 save percentage since the start of February.
Dallas hasn’t played particularly well in back to backs since January 1st, going 1-2-1 in the second game of those B2B situations. Chicago should probably roll in this game tonight, so I feel a mini-stack might not be a bad choice. I would also be in favour of Crawford in some 50/50 or heads-up matches.
