Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 25

Jordan Staal

Los Angeles Kings at Washington Capitals

Los Angeles went into Philadelphia last night and skated away with a 3-2 win. The score indicates a game that seemed to be pretty close but in reality, the Kings pretty much stopped playing after the second period when the score was 2-0. It’s likely that Jonathan Quick gets the rest tonight with it being a back to back, which means Martin Jones will probably be getting the nod in net. Jones has only been so-so since the Olympic break, posting an .893 save percentage in his three appearances. The Kings are only 2-2-0 in the second of back to backs since the calendar turned 2014.

Washington is coming home from a very successful California road trip where the team went 2-0-1 against Los Angeles, Anaheim, and San Jose. Of course, as has been the case, the team got its teeth kicked in possession-wise (averaging getting outshot by nearly 11 shots per game) but the goaltending has been stellar for them of late. Back in net tonight will be Jaroslav Halak and the newly-acquired goalie has a .935 save percentage in the seven games he’s appeared in with the Capitals.

If this is any type of game tonight, it should be a low-scoring game. The game these two played in California last week only produced two goals and fifty shots on net. I would probably avoid both goalies tonight (though risking Halak in a large GPP isn’t a bad idea) and just pick apart at the value skaters.
