Ottawa Senators at Florida Panthers
Ottawa won in a shootout last night in Tampa Bay to keep their slim (read: nearly non-existent) playoff hopes still alive. Tonight will be a test for the team, despite the team that they’re playing: Ottawa has allowed eight goals against in their last two games that were the second of a back to back on the road. That is the exact situation they find themselves in today. In all likelihood, it should be Craig Anderson in net for Ottawa tonight and that could be a problem for the Sens; Anderson hasn’t played in over two weeks and he’s allowed at least three goals against in five of the last six games he’s played.
Florida is coming back from a West Coast road trip where they went 1-3-0 and had 14 goals scored against them in those games. They were also outshot by an average of 11 per game in those four road contests. The team will have a fresh Roberto Luongo in net for this game though as he was given the night off for the getaway game on Sunday night. As a whole, though, this team has managed about 25 shots and one goal in their last four games, so things look pretty bleak for them right now (DFS-wise, anyway).
The Senators have taken two of three games from the Panthers so far this year, including a 4-2 win in Florida with Anderson in net. I won’t rely on either goaltender by any stretch, but there should be some decent value for a couple of Sens skaters in 50/50 games.
