Aside from being an avid season-long fantasy hockey player, I do play some daily fantasy hockey from time to time. Though there are a few short weeks left in the regular season, NHL fans are going to get a fun treat here on XNSports. Every week I am going to look back and wax poetic on the best daily performances of the week.
I have been truly privileged to work along side Michael Clifford and Neil Parker here on the site. They are two of the many daily fantasy experts that I talk to on a frequent basis. Hey, we all have to learn a little sometime. You can subscribe to the XN Sports Daily Fantasy Hockey newsletter to receive Michael’s picks in your email as soon as they are published.
Daily Fantasy Hockey Gets Audio Love
One of my main goals in 2014 was to bring back a fantasy hockey show the way they used to be. In the old days, topics were actually expanded upon and straight forward conversation was encouraged. We have tried to bring that back with the new Fantasy Hockey X that airs Monday nights at 10:00 pm ET on Blog Talk Radio. Mr. Clifford and myself recap the week’s events, toss in some additional topics, add some injury talk and more. If anyone is wondering about Neil, he will be joining us soon enough as the show quickly expands.
Most fantasy hockey talk is usually rushed and the goal is to take things back to where they used to be. Hopefully you take a listen as Mike, Neil, and I get you through the last few weeks and then special episodes will air throughout the playoffs and summer.

So, now there are those daily fantasy bests from Tuesday night.
Daily Fantasy Bests
Roberto Luongo, G, Florida — Basically Roberto Luongo was a daily fantasy hockey beast on Tuesday with a whopping 52 save performance in a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks. If you do some very quick math, that is 15.6 points which would have given you a nice boost in your daily fantasy hockey quest to make some money. Luongo also made 28 of his saves in a third period that I think people will just have to see so they can actually believe it happened.
Thomas Vanek, F, Montreal — Those hat tricks can really help your bottom line. Thomas Vanek not only had a hat trick but two of those goals were on the power play. Overall, he added 12.5 points to your bottom line on a busy night. It was a wild game between Montreal and Colorado but if you paid a little and rode Vanek, then it was a nice night.
Derick Brassard, F, NY Rangers — It was a crazy night in Ottawa and Derick Brassard owners reaped the rewards. The three point night doesn’t sound like much but that +4 and three shots on goal were enough to give him a 10.9 point night. Brassard has an outside chance at a near 50 point season if he can get on a very hot stretch. It is not out of the realm of possibility.
Good luck in your daily leagues and fantasy hockey playoffs this week.
