Carolina Hurricanes at Columbus Blue Jackets
Carolina has fallen on some very hard times of late as they’ve gone just 3-8-0 since the Olympic break. It seems like this team just can’t get everything clicking at the same time; three of their eight losses have come when one of their goaltenders has posted a save percentage of .930 or better. When teams get goaltending like that, they’re supposed to win hockey games. The ‘Canes just can’t find the back of the net with regularity and it’s killed their playoff chances. On the bright side, the have allowed just five power play goals against in their last 11 games, a penalty kill efficiency of 86.5-percent.
Columbus has been absolutely rolling over the last eight games, going 6-1-1 in those games. Setting aside their regulation loss, the team has allowed just 11 goals against in the other seven games. With Sergei Bobrovsky playing so well at the moment, he seems to be a good play in net for 50/50s even with his price tag. Other than goalie Bob, though, the team has been a bit inconsistent at times; as they have 14 goals in three wins over Florida, Dallas, and Detroit and seven goals in the other four non-Chicago games. When the volatility of scoring is so high, it’s really hard to rely on any DFS skaters that aren’t good values.
