Nashville Predators at Chicago Blackhawks
Nashville has won their last two games following a four-game losing streak, but wins over Buffalo and Ottawa aren’t really something to trumpet. One huge bright spot for the team is the return to form of Pekka Rinne as the long-injured goaltender has managed a .921 save percentage in his four games since returning from a hip infection. In reality, besides Rinne, Craig Smith and perhaps Shea Weber, there aren’t too many reliable players on the Predators. There are values, but nothing reliable.
Speaking of being unreliable, the Blackhawks are causing some gray hairs in the DFS game. Out of their last five games, they have scored 11 goals against Pittsburgh/Columbus and six goals against Colorado/Buffalo/Colorado. That kind of variance is killer in DFS because nights where you stack them, they could blow up your team. Nights where you don’t stack them, your opponents probably will. At this point, other than a couple of value plays, I just can’t rely on this team right now to stack against any opponent.
Each team has taken a game from the other so far this year and Nashville has outscored the Blackhawks 8-5 in those games. I’m not really sure which way to go with this one so as I mentioned, I’ll probably take a ‘Hawk or two for 50/50 games and that’s it. I don’t think I’ll take either goalie in this one either with a small possibility for Pekka Rinne in a GPP.
