Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – March 1

Jarome Iginla

Florida Panthers at Columbus Blue Jackets

Florida saw their penalty kill get the best of them in their 5-4 loss to Washington a couple of nights ago. It also cannot be overstated how much this team will miss Aleksander Barkov moving forward. Without their top centre, it moves everyone up the depth chart and no one has the skill to fulfill the role they’re being asked to fulfill. Moving forward, this team just can’t be trusted to play consistent hockey and I would probably avoid them except for very cheap value plays.

Columbus looked a little flat in their first game back, a 5-2 loss to New Jersey. Despite Marian Gaborik starting on the fourth line, he managed over 16 minutes of game time and looked great on an individual effort to get his first goal since returning from injury. I’ll chalk up that first game to coming back from vacation with a road game against a suffocating possession team. It should be a much better effort today.

This seems like a good time to stack the Blue Jackets. Not only did Gaborik look good in his first game back but goalie Sergei Bobrovsky doesn’t lay too many eggs like the one he did on Thursday night. I’ll have him in some 50/50s and will be stacking the Jackets in some GPPs.
