Anaheim Ducks at Phoenix Coyotes
The Ducks just keep rolling along as they are coming off a comeback 4-3 win over Nashville a couple of nights ago. That gave them five wins in a row overall and they have one regulation loss since November 26. One pleasant sight for the Ducks is their power play which has struggled for most of the year; in their last five games, they have six power play goals as a team which is good for a 28.6-percent efficiency on their current win streak.
Phoenix has been quite the opposite of late: since December 13, a span of 12 games, the Coyotes have just one regulation win (three overall) to give them a 3-5-4 mark over those contests. A big problem has been an inconsistent offense that has scored just 10 goals in their last four games, but six of them coming in a home win against Calgary. It’s tough to win games consistently if you don’t score consistently.
The Ducks beat Phoenix a couple of weeks ago in overtime and also hold two other wins over them this year. I don’t see why tonight would be any different. I’ll be careful about stacking players, however, as Phoenix has been, to borrow a baseball term, “effectively wild” in their goals for/against, which is always a concern.
