Ken Whisenhunt is proving to be the hottest name in NFL coaching rumors this offseason.

The San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator is already considered to be frontrunner for the Detroit Lions gig, but Whisenhunt has also drawn attention from a handful of other teams, most notably the Tennessee Titans.

According to FOX Sports, Titans executives traveled to San Diego to meet with Whisenhunt, while he was game-planning for the Bolts’ divisional playoff game with the Denver Broncos. The Titans’ brass were in San Diego Friday night, a day after Whisenhunt interviewed with the Lions and a day before he plans to meet with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns interviewed Whisenhunt twice last offseason before they hired Rod Chudzinski.

On Friday, reports indicated Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn was the top choice for the Titans. According to NFL.com, teams in search of a new head coach like the Titans are waiting in the wings to interview Quinn, but will be unable to do so as long as the Seahawks remain in the playoffs.

Quinn is also expected to interview for the Minnesota Vikings’ coaching vacancy, though ESPN reported earlier in the week Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is the favorite to land in the Twin Cities.

The Vikings will also interview San Francisco 49ers defensive line coach Jim Tomsula Saturday, according to FOX Sports, as well as Niners offensive coordinator Greg Roman.

According to NFL.com, two or three finalists are expected to be flown into Minnesota Monday to meet with Vikings ownership, and a decision could follow soon after this week. Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Cleveland defensive coordinator Ray Horton are also in the running.
