Buffalo Sabres at Winnipeg Jets
The Sabres have actually put together a pretty nice December for themselves, going 5-4-2 so far, nearly doubling their win total for the season. They’re also 4-1-1 in their last six games, and can thank Ryan Miller for a lot of that.
Winnipeg has won back-to-back for the first time in a month, including an overtime win in Colorado. Typcially, this has been a good home team, and they have won back-to-back games there as well.
Buffalo is starting to let down a bit defensively, something they weren’t doing, oddly enough, when they were consistently losing games. They have allowed 36+ shots in five straight games and 92 shots in their last two. At some point, you can’t keep doing that to your goalie.
These two teams met a couple weeks ago in Buffalo, which resulted in a 4-2 win for the Sabres. Now, that was back-to-back for the Jets, but all the same, it was somewhat impressive. I still expect Winnipeg to win this one, however, and there could be more goals scored than you might expect.
