San Jose Sharks at St. Louis Blues
It’s gone by pretty quietly, but San Jose is 1-4-1 in their last six games, being outscored 19-12 over those games. It’s not a shock that this team is going through a down stretch of games, all teams do. What is a bit surprising are the losses to Carolina, the Islanders and the Predators. These are teams that good teams beat with regularity even when things aren’t going right.
St. Louis hasn’t been too much better, either, having gone just 4-4 in their last eight games. They also lost to this same San Jose team, in San Jose, less than three weeks ago.
There aren’t many good goalies in this game so I would anticipate a pile of goals, much like their earlier meeting that saw nine total goals dent the twine. Injury reports will be a fickle thing through the day, with Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Sobotka having missed last night’s game for St. Louis and David Backes leaving the game after the second period and not returning.
