Edmonton Oilers at Anaheim Ducks
After a hot streak that saw the Oilers go 7-3-1 over an 11-game stretch, they have now lost back-to-back contests by a combined score of 8-2. This also makes three games in four nights for them, having gone from Edmonton, to Vancouver and now to Anaheim. The Ducks, meanwhile, haven’t played since Wednesday night.
Edmonton hasn’t taken many penalties recently, seeing their team go short handed just four times in three games, and that’s a good thing. Edmonton has also allowed a power play goal on three of those four chances, which is really bad. The Ducks have gone 4-for-13 with the man advantage over their last five games, which seems to create a special teams mismatch.
This game is all about the Ducks. Ilyz Bryzgalov was just activated off the IR for Edmonton, so pay close attention to who starts in net tonight. An injured goalie playing his first game back on a bad defensive team in Anaheim is a great spot to load up on the Ducks.
