Florida Panthers at Montréal Canadiens
Speaking of two teams struggling to score, the Panthers visit Montréal tonight.
Over their last eight total games, these two teams, like Tampa and Detroit, have scored 12 goals combined. The thing is, they are a combined 5-3 over those eight games. There is still something to be said for good goaltending and good team defense.
Speaking of sputtering power plays, these two teams have combined to go 0-for-26 over their last 10 games combined.
The best plays in this game, much like the Tampa/Detroit game, is probably in net. I would expect a battle of backups as Carey Price started last night for Montréal and Tim Thomas has hit the Injured Reserve for Florida. None of the goalies are confirmed, but Habs backup Peter Budaj is pretty cheap today and should get the start.
