Daily Fantasy Football: StarStreet Roster Building Week 13

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford

The Mega Powers
If you want to ‘Hulk Out’ and ‘Snap into a Slim Jim’, by building your StarStreet roster with two stud quarterbacks, then you only really have two options: Stafford, and Tony Romo. They’re the two highest priced Thursday quarterbacks, and are the only true QB1s playing on Turkey Day.

A ‘Mega Powers’ StarStreet led line-up is the equivalent of going QB/QB to start a 2-QB draft, and if you go this route, you’re going to have to get creative in how you build the rest of your roster.

The combined $27,000 it would cost to start Stafford/Romo is $3,800 more than ‘The Rockers’ combo of Stafford/Flynn.

In a price structured daily fantasy sports format like StarStreet, $3,800 could be the difference between you starting Rod Streater and his price of $8,200 at one of the flex positions, instead of starting Reggie Bush, who is priced at $12,300.

Romo’s opponents, the Raiders, have had an up and down past few games, when it comes to stopping the passer. On one hand, they allowed Nick Foles to throw for seven touchdowns, no interceptions, and over 400 passing yards against them.

Then their next three games saw them allow a combined two touchdowns, and two interceptions, to Eli Manning, Case Keenum, and Matt Schaub, while giving up no more than 170 passing yards in a game.

You can probably spot a difference between the quality of quarterbacks mentioned, and with Romo coming into this game as the seventh highest standard scoring fantasy quarterback, look for the passing numbers to be high.

It doesn’t hurt Romo to have to play with a real-life bad NFL defense, as that could force Romo to have to put up a ton of points on the board.

Hopefully you are able to the differences in the way you can build your StarStreet roster, by the quarterback combination you select.

The New Age Outlaws
Finally, if you decide you want to splurge everywhere but the quarterback position, and want to save your money by going cheap, and adopting ‘The New Age Outlaws’ route of StarStreet quarterback roster building, the two names to circle from the Thursday games are Flynn, and McGloin.

These two Matts would make for the cheapest starting quarterback duo possible, at a combined price of $18,200.

With Stafford/Romo costing $27,000, the difference between that duo, and the combination of Flynn/McGloin is a whopping $8,800. That’s like being able to start Rod Streater for free, almost!

Going cheap at the quarterback position has one advantage, and that is it gives you more money to spend elsewhere, such as a high priced wide receiver like Calvin Johnson.

We’ve espoused Flynn’s virtues already, but what about McGloin?

On paper, the match-up looks good. No team has allowed more fantasy points to quarterbacks than the Cowboys, and they are near the bottom of the standings in the sacks departments.

However, the Cowboys also have a porous rush defense, which has been a fantasy boon for running backs.

With an undrafted quarterback under center, and a running back in Rashad Jennings, who has rushed for at least 70 yards in each of his last four games, with two 100+ yard rushing days, the Raiders might take to the ground to beat the Cowboys.

Game flow isn’t something you have control over in fantasy football, but the Cowboys atrocious defense across the board is one reason to be cautious when inserting McGloin into your StarStreet line-up.

We’ve now gone over three different ways to build your StarStreet line-up this Thanksgiving holiday, by starting your roster construction at the quarterback position.

Hopefully I’ve provided you with some sort of an idea of the different ways you can attack building your StarStreet roster. Good luck in the DFS landscape today!
