I’m taking a break from FanDuel NHL picks to dive into some daily MLB picks this weekend. I’ve played MLB daily fantasy in the past but this is my first attempt at creating a team for public consumption. Be gentle.
This is the lineup I’m rolling with in multiple FanDuel matchups today:
P: Jose Fernandez $3,100—Fernandez made a big splash in his last outing. He struck out eight in five innings and is a nice value at $3,100.
C: Buster Posey $3,100—The slow start can’t last forever and he showed signs of what he truly is with a 3 for 5, three RBI game on Apr. 10.
1B: Lance Berkman $4,000—Berkman is off to hot start for Texas. He’s hit .394, with one home run and seven RBI.
2B: Robinson Cano $4,600—Cano went 2 for 4 last night and has three home runs this season. I like him to continue his hot bat against Baltimore today.
3B: Adrian Beltre $3,700—I’m not going to shy away from Beltre’s potential simply because he has a bad early season average (.233). He’s trending the right way with a hit in three straight games.
SS: Troy Tulowitzki $4,600—Tulowitzki has a three game hit streak and shows no signs of slowing down. He’s hit .324, with three home runs and nine RBI this season.
OF: Chris Carter (HOU) $3,600—Carter has hit for some nice power early this season with three home runs. Believe it or not the Astros actually look like a real baseball team right now. I’ll ride that wave while it lasts.
OF: Ryan Braun $5,200—Braun is our most expensive pick of the day. Forget last night’s 0 for 4 performace—he always has the potential for a big night.
OF: Alfonso Soriano $2,900—Soriano is our cheapest pick of the night. This one is purely a gut call and necessary if went Braun/Cano/Tulowitzki in the same lineup.
Good luck today. May the daily fantasy gods be on your side.
