Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks – March 15

Philadelphia Flyers right wing Scott Hartnell

We had a good night at FanDuel last night. Our lineup either won or placed in the money in six out of seven entries with 47.2 points. I was also happy to hear from some readers that the lineup helped put a few bucks in their pockets.

Chris Stewart and Jake Allen were our stars. Stewart had two goals and one assist and Allen had a shutout. I’m not sure how much longer Allen will remain under $4,000 on FanDuel but he’ll be my go to goaltender from here on out if he remains cheap.

Today I’ll take Miikka Kiprusoff as my goaltender. Calgary has been good at home and Nashville is only 3-6-1 in their past 10 games. Plus, Kiprusoff is only $6,600 and it continues my trend of taking cheap goaltending.

Again, our player pool is very limited as there are only three games tonight.

I’ll enter the following lineup into some FanDuel head-to-heads and 50/50’s:

Philadelphia Flyers right wing Scott Hartnell

LW: Scott Hartnell $6,400—Hartnell only has two goals this season but he looked great against New Jersey on the March 13 scoring a goal and ending the game with a plus-1 rating. He gets New Jersey again tonight and even if Harntell doesn’t score a goal you most likely will get a few penalty minutes out of him.

LW: Alex Tanguay $5,300—Tanguay has a point in three straight games.

RW: Ilya Kovalchuk $7,100—Kovalchuk has three goals and one assist over his past three games. He was plus-2 and scored a goal the last time New Jersey played Philly.

RW: Jakub Voracek $7,400—Voracek had a goal and one assist against New Jersey on March 13.

C: Claude Giroux $7,300—Giroux has a goal and one assist over his past two games.

C: Patrik Elias $6,200—Elias helped us the other night so I’ll roll with him again. He has five points in his last four games.

D: Ryan Whitney $3,900—I’m digging here a little with Whitney but he does have three points in his past two games. His shot totals scare me a little—only three in four games.

D: Justin Schultz $4,700—Schultz seems to have bounced back from a horrific minus-6 four game span from March 3 to March 8. He had two assists against Chicago and has 15 points in 26 games.

G: Miikka Kiprusoff $6,600

Value: Shawn Horcoff is $4,000 and has scored a goal in two straight games. You could place him in one of your Center positions and have some cap space to play with at other positions. The first place I’d start tinkering with would be our Schultz/Whitney defensive pairing.

Good luck tonight.
