Tuesday was a great day around the league. Cespedes was the play last night as he went deep three times as the Mets blew out the Phillies. Murphy showed up to play leading the Nationals to another victory as they are now 4-1 at home. Bryce Harper didn’t have a lot of opportunities as he was walked three times, but those still count as points and in DFS I’ll take points where ever I can get them. We have a ton of games today as teams wrap up their series hit the road on Thursday and gear up for their weekend series.
Low Scoring Plays
St. Louis Cardinals @ Washington Nationals – Scherzer is back on the mound for the Nationals as they are try to complete the sweep on the Cardinals. The Nationals have scored 22 runs in two games so far against the Cardinals. If you are going to take batters in the game, take the Nationals’. Last night Werth proved his worth. Murphy has been hot and has hit a long ball off of the Leake. Harper has is 3-13 off of Leake, 2 of the hits are for home runs. Rendon is the best hitter against Leake with a .400 average.
Targets: Scherzer, Murphy, Rendon
High Scoring Plays
Baltimore Orioles @ Boston Red Sox – Manager Buck Showalter ran his mouth about Boston’s flu problem saying that his team has had it too, they just played through it. The Red Sox are not one of the teams that I would not run my mouth about. Boston is starting to heal up from the flu and can hang 10 plus runs against the Orioles if they are locked in. Showalter’s comments will motivate them. I am going to go heavy on the Red Sox tonight if Betts, Bogaerts, and Ramirez are in the lineup. Steven Wright didn’t have his best outing the last time out. With the weather warming up in the northeast and a small ball park in Fenway, Baltimore could send some balls over the monster. Again, if the lineup is there I like the Red Sox big in this one.
Targets: Betts, Pedroia, Ramirez
Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Francisco Giants – Arizona has shocked me so far in this young season. They are a league best 7-2 and are the highest scoring team in baseball. Jake Lamb is second in the MLB in RBI’s, Chris Owings is top 10 in hits, and Yasmany Tomas is top 5 in doubles. Right now Arizona is clicking on all cylinders, I don’t know how long it will last but might as well ride the wave while it’s here.
Targets: Tomas, Owings, Goldschmidt
Undervalued Play
Puig – LAD – OF – Puig’s price this season is like my old high school relationship, all over the place. He is back down to $3800 which is a steal for a cleanup hitter. He is hitting .300 with 3 home runs. Puig has shown he is back this year and I love this play tonight.
