As training camps across the NFL get underway, XN Sports will report the top headlines of each day.
Wednesday already featured no shortage of intrigue and optimism, between injuries and holdouts, as well as late offseason signings.
Here are the top five headlines for Saturday:
49ers receivers sidelined
First the 49ers’ running backs caught the injury bug, now it has spread onto the wide receivers. Both Michael Crabtree and Brandon Lloyd will miss the next week of training camp due to injuries.

Crabtree is suffering from an “undisclosed injury” and should be out two weeks, while Lloyd has a similar timeline, also with an undisclosed injury.
Cards add a tackle
The Cardinals signed veteran offensive tackle Max Starks Friday. Starks, 32, used to play for coach Bruce Arians when the two were in Pittsburgh.
Last year, Starks spent a few weeks in St. Louis before getting released prior to Week 5. He’ll be a third tackle behind starters Jared Veldheer and Bobby Massie.
Will Moreno make the Dolphins?
Running back Knowshon Moreno could miss the entire preseason, the Miami Herald reported. Moreno’s knee injury was originally given a four- to five-week timeline, but six weeks after his knee scope he still isn’t walking at 100 percent.
Lamar Miller has impressed so far this summer, while Daniel Thomas is entrenched as the backup. It isn’t completely inconceivable to think Moreno never even suits up for the Dolphins.
Bradford not 100 percent?
Last month, Jeff Fisher said Rams quarterback Sam Bradford was “a full-go” for training camp. That’s not how CBS Sports sees it, though.

Jason La Confora, who by the way reported St. Louis was considering releasing Bradford this winter, does add the caveat it’s a part of the recovery process. This is something to pay attention to for Rams fans.
The latest on Gordon
Josh Gordon‘s appeal meeting will continue into Monday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, when a decision should follow soon after. So far, it’s been a reported 10 hours of meetings in the NFL offices in New York.
Sources told Pro Football Talk there’s a slight chance Gordon and the NFL could reach a settlement in which the 16-game suspension is reduced.
