Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw continued his dominance Wednesday night as he tossed his first career no-hitter with a 8-0 blanking of the Colorado Rockies.
Kershaw followed in the footsteps of teammate Josh Beckett, who threw the first no-hitter of the Major League Baseball season last month. The lefty fanned 15 Rockies batters, the most strikeouts in a no-hitter since 1991, and improved to 7-2 on the season with a 2.52 ERA.
Kershaw completed the no-hit bid with, fittingly, a strikeout. He got Corey Dickerson swinging on the breaking pitch to notch the win, and a celebration ensued.
Come on. You thought that was the celebration?
This is baseball. This is how it went down.
Kershaw and the rest of the Dodgers players were excited to bask in the historic victory. Kershaw’s wife, Ellen, appeared even more happy.
