The best remaining free-agent wide receiver is Kenny Britt, but he still remains unsigned. That could change very soon.
In an interview with Pro Football Talk, St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead estimated the chances of the team landing Britt is “better than 50 percent,” which according to basic math calculations is pretty likely.
Rams coach Jeff Fisher was at the helm of the Tennessee Titans when the team drafted Britt in the first round out of Rutgers back in 2009. After Danny Amendola departed for the New England Patriots last offseason, the Rams drafed Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey out of West Virginia to head a young receiving corps that also includes Chris Givens, Austin Pettis and Brian Quick.
The Rams are not alone in their pursuit of Britt. The Washington Redskins remain interested in the wideout, according to ESPN, but are waiting for Britt to make up his mind. Britt visited Washington along with the New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills, but the Patriots have already been ruled out.
Recently released New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is on the verge of finding a new home. According to reports, the former No. 6 overall pick is in Philadelphia taking a physical with the Eagles, a sign that is contract is close.

Sanchez’s other rumored suitor, the Rams, signed Shaun Hill to back up Sam Bradford and essentially removed their hat from contention for the quarterback. The Eagles are paying a lot of attention to Sanchez’s injured shoulder that cost him all of the 2013 season.
Another backup quarterback in the news is Matt Flynn of the Green Bay Packers. After leaving Wisconsin to join the Seattle Seahawks and then the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills, Flynn returned to the Pack last season to start for the injured Aaron Rodgers. And Packers coach Mike McCarthy wants Flynn to re-up with the team.
McCarthy told ESPN Wisconsin he would like to have Flynn back. The move backs sense for both sides, as Flynn has sustained most of his success while backing up Rodgers.
“I’d like to have Matt back,” McCarthy said during the annual NFL Meetings. “I thought Matt was a good addition to our football team. I have great respect and admiration for him, just being around him a lot on a positional basis. Yeah, I’m hoping financially it works out.”
