Monday, August 12:
Wade Davis vs. MIA: Davis has settled down of late, putting up a 2.40 ERA and 12 K over his last 15 IP. He’s faced Miami once before, allowing just one run and striking out four over 8.1 IP. The Marlins rank 26th in offense in August.
Danny Salazar at MIN: Salazar has a 3.29 ERA and 17 K/2 BB over his first two starts of the season and will face off against a Minnesota lineup that’s batting a combined .227 in August.
Dan Straily at TOR: Although he’s been struggling, Straily has done well against the Blue Jays in the past, putting up a 2.53 ERA and seven strikeouts over 10.2 IP.
Jhoulys Chacin vs. SD: Chacin has a 2.45 ERA and 12 K/2 BB over his last three starts (22 IP) and owns a 3.16 ERA and 36 K over 51 career innings against the Padres. San Diego is 29th in runs in the month of August.
Tuesday, August 13:
Randall Delgado vs. BAL: Delgado has faced the O’s once before, holding them to two runs, three hits, and one walk while striking out six over eight innings. He has a 3.60 ERA and 13 K/3 BB over his last three starts.
Eric Stults at COL: I don’t like to start pitchers at Colorado but Stults has always done well against the Rockies, owning a 3.35 ERA and 28 K over 40 IP. Colorado ranks 25th in runs in August.
Bruce Chen vs. MIA: Chen has been brilliant since moving back into the rotation and owns a 1.37 ERA and 15 K/3 BB over his last three starts. He’s always done well against the Marlins, owning a career 2.70 ERA and 40 K over 46.2 IP. Miami is the third-worst offense in the NL.
Wednesday, August 14:
Jarred Cosart at OAK: Cosart has been great since being called up and owns a 2.00 ERA over his last three starts. He’s faced the A’s once before this season, surrendering just one run and striking out four over seven innings of work. The A’s rank 11th in offense in the American League this month.
Jarrod Parker vs. HOU: Facing Cosart in the matchup of starters who spell Jared weird, Parker held the Astros to just one run and struck out four over seven innings pitched the last time he saw them. Houston is batting .237 as a team this month.
Carlos Carrasco at MIN: Although he’s been struggling, Carrasco has seen a lot of the Twins in his young career and has done very well. Over 29 IP against Minnesota, Carrasco owns a 2.45 ERA and 18 K.
Bronson Arroyo at CHC: Arroyo allowed just one run over seven innings in his last start and has always done well against the Cubs. He’s faced Chicago 27 times in his career, putting up a 3.04 ERA and 111 K over 177 IP.
Thursday, August 15:
Dan Haren vs. SF: Haren has been stellar over his last three starts, going 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 19 K/3 BB over 21 IP. He has faced the Giants often, putting up a 3.14 ERA and 79 K over 100 IP. San Francisco has the second-worst offense in the NL this month, ahead of only the Padres.
Tyson Ross vs. NYM: Ross has been stellar since returning to the rotation and owns a 1.29 ERA and 22 K over his last three starts (21 IP). The Mets are batting .240 as a team this month.
Friday, August 16:
Ubaldo Jimenez at OAK: Ubaldo has been great of late, owning a 1.96 ERA and 15 K over his last three starts (18.1 IP). He’s done well against Oakland in the past, going 2-0 with a 3.57 ERA and 17 K over 17.2 IP.
Jeremy Hellickson vs. TOR: Hellickson has been rough, owning a 4.93 ERA on the season and a 9.75 ERA in his last three starts. He’s always done well against the Blue Jays, however, going 5-2 with a 2.74 ERA and 41 K over 62 IP.
Kevin Correia vs. CHW: Correia is a middle-of-the-road pitcher but the White Sox seem to bring out the best in him. In three career starts, Correia is 2-1 with a 2.61 ERA and 15 K/2 BB over 20.2 IP. The White Sox have the fourth-worst offense in the AL this month.
Felix Doubront vs. NYY: Doubront has a 2.81 ERA over his last three starts and has been a Yankee killer in his young career, going 3-1 with a 2.36 ERA and 43 K over 42 IP against the Bombers. The Yankees have the second-worst offense in the American League this month.
Jon Niese at SD: Niese has owned the Padres over four career starts, putting up a 2.15 ERA and 20 K/4 BB over 29 IP. The Padres have the worst offense in the National League this month.
Saturday, August 17:
Jenrry Mejia at SD: Mejia has a 1.96 ERA and 18 K/3 BB over his last three starts (18.1 IP) and will face the worst offense in the National League through August.
Wade Miley at PIT: Miley has a 0.89 ERA and 17 K over his last three starts and owns a career 2.04 ERA and 10 K over 17.2 IP against the Bucs. Pittsburgh ranks 24th in the league in offense this month.
Joe Kelly at CHC: Kelly has a 3.14 ERA on the season and a 2.16 ERA over his last three starts. He’s done a good job against the Cubs in the past, posting a 3.66 ERA and 16 K over 19.2 IP. The Cubs rank 22nd in offense this month.
Wily Peralta vs. CIN: Peralta has a 2.79 ERA and 15 K/4 BB over his last three starts. In four career starts against the Reds, Peralta owns a 2.45 ERA and 17 K over 25.2 IP. Cincy’s offense has fallen off, ranking 23rd in the league through August.
Martin Perez vs. SEA: Perez has been great lately, putting up a 1.59 ERA and 19 K over his last three starts (22.2 IP). In two career starts against Seattle, Perez owns a 1.84 ERA and 12 K over 14.2 IP.

Hector Santiago at MIN: Santiago has played two very good games against the Twins, putting up a 2.70 ERA and 13 K over 16.2 IP. Twins batters are hitting just .227 this month.
Tom Koehler vs. SF: Koehler has been a solid starter for Miami, posting a 4.40 ERA on the year and a 4.50 ERA with 19 K over his last three starts (16 IP). In one career start against the Giants, Koehler surrendered just one run, three hits, three walks, and struck out three over seven innings. The Giants are the second-worst offense in the league through August.
Eric Stults vs. NYM: Stults has been solid of late, owning a 3.86 ERA and 16 K/2 BB over his last three starts (18.2 IP). He’s always done well against the Mets, going 3-1 with a 2.08 ERA and 21 K over 26 IP.
