Sticking in the NFC South, the Panthers won the division a year ago in spite of a losing record and losing six straight games from October through November. This all coming in a season where the team was expected to be especially poor.
Carolina needs to make major upgrades along the offensive line, particularly at left tackle to better protect the franchise, Cam Newton. In addition, the team needs a No. 2 type of wide receiver to plug in opposite last year’s first-round pick Kelvin Benjamin, as well as depth on the defensive line and in the secondary.
