Michael Crabtree to the Eagles
Crabtree has never panned out to be a top-tier wide receiver in the NFL except for a late-season stretch back during the 2012 season. Between injuries and ineffective quarterback play, Crabtree has constantly been a tease.
Now a free agent that won’t be returning to San Francisco, Crabtree should be in the market for a team and a fresh start. You know what team needs wide receivers — the Eagles.
Philly lost Jeremy Maclin, its leading receiver, and is now putting the brunt of the work on second-year players Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff, not to mention Riley Cooper. Crabtree has thrived in a spread offense while at Texas Tech and could now have a chance to do the same for Chip Kelly. Of course, he comes cheap, too.
