3. Vic Fangio to the Bears
Fangio has long been the architect of the 49ers’ defense, which has been a perennial top-five unit since he has been at the helm. But the likes of Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman and Aldon Smith aren’t waiting for him over in the Windy City.
Fangio has quite a project on his hands in Chicago, where the defense finished 28th in defense DVOA and allowed the 31st-most points and 30th-most yards in the league last season.
Fangio inherits young talent like cornerback Kyle Fuller and defensive lineman Stephen Paea, not to mention gets to work alongside John Fox, who has a history of quickly turning defenses around.
