Victiv Daily Fantasy Basketball: Values and Lineup – January 2

Kyle OQuinn

XN Sports is introducing a new daily fantasy site called Victiv, which has one of the best features in all of daily fantasy, in addition to a sleek design, and a few ways to play daily fantasy basketball.

Victiv has what is called a substitution position, which you can learn more about on the site. Essentially, it’s one extra position for under $5,000 (does not affect your salary cap) where you can select a bench player. This player will come in handy, as it replaces anyone in your lineup that scores less than the substitute. Think of it as a free mulligan, and an option to take a risk on a player.

For example, if you like a specific player one night but he is a game-time decision, put him into your lineups. The substitute can be his backup, or another player that you think could have an excellent night, and if your player does not play, no worries. In addition, this adds another level of strategy. On Victiv, the minimum price for a player is a lot lower than on other sites. You can afford to take risks with these cheap players, because if this player does not have an excellent game, your substitute can pick up the slack. Be sure to take advantage of this, and try Victiv today.

After you have signed up, be sure to take on Victron. This is Victiv’s computer, and if you beat it, you can win cash prizes. This is yet another way to play daily fantasy basketball.

On Victiv, you are given $50,000 in cap space to play a lineup composed of two guards, three forwards, a center, and two flex positions. As aforementioned, the substitute does not count against your cap. The scoring is as follows (taken directly from Victiv’s website):

– Point +1

– Rebound +1.25

– Assist +1.25

– Steal +2

– Block +2

– Turnover -0.5

How can we beat Victron, other players and win real money? First, sign up for Victiv here.

Second, take a look at XN Sports’ suggested plays and lineup for Victiv for tonight’s slate:

Tonight’s slate is full with game-time decisions, so stay aware before tip-off.

Value Plays

Guard

No value plays at guard tonight, as Victiv has some of the sharpest pricing in the industry. Be prepared to spend at guard.

Forward

Kyle O’Quinn, Orlando Magic $3,300

O’Quinn has disappointed fantasy owners of late, getting the starting nod but not producing up to value. But, his price on Victiv is a low $3,300, which is worth taking a flier on tonight against the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are 24th in the NBA in rebounding, and their three big men will have a hard time defending Nikola Vucevic in the post, giving O’Quinn a one-on-one opportunity against a smaller opponent. O’Quinn has played less minutes since becoming a starter, but only because of foul trouble. If he can stay off the scorecard for fouls early, he’ll be able to reach value at his low price. With a good matchup, he is worth a look on Victiv.

Kyle Singler, Detroit Pistons $3,300

Singler has been a consistent value on Victiv, reaching in his last three games under the new rotation for the Pistons. At just $3,300, anything over 15 fantasy points is value for the former Duke star. Tonight, he faces the Knicks, who are last in the NBA in defending the three, giving him an excellent chance to reach value just in points, let alone the 2.5 rebounds, one assist, and half a steal per game average this season. Singler will be low-owned on Victiv as well, so be sure to get him into your GPP lineups.

Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks $4,800 and Kevin Durant $4,500

Anthony and Durant’s prices may be a glitch in the system, but be sure to take advantage and put them into your lineups.

Center

Bismack Biyombo, Charlotte Hornets $3,200

With Al Jefferson out, Biyombo is the starting center for the Hornets. In his first start, he totaled nine points, seven rebounds and three blocks en route to well over 20 fantasy points, an excellent value on Victiv. His price has not risen though, so be sure to take advantage of his price tonight against the Cavaliers. Cleveland is rebounding at over 50 percent this year, but that is without their top rebounder in Anderson Varejao. With Biyombo’s ability on the glass, expect him to rebound the ball at will tonight against Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, so he is an excellent start at center, which is a hard place to find value on Victiv.

Lineup

GBrandon Jennings $7,000

GKyrie Irving $10,000

F – Carmelo Anthony $4,800

F – Kevin Durant $4,500

F – Kyle Singler $3,300

C – Bismack Biyombo $3,200

FLEX – Gordon Hayward $7,700

FLEX – Paul Millsap $9,400

*Keep an eye on injuries for the slate tonight, a lot can happen in a short amount of time.
