XN Sports is introducing a new daily fantasy site called Victiv, which has one of the best features in all of daily fantasy, in addition to a sleek design, and a few ways to play daily fantasy basketball.
Victiv has what is called a substitution position, which you can learn more about on the site. Essentially, it’s one extra position for under $5,000 (does not affect your salary cap) where you can select a bench player. This player will come in handy, as it replaces anyone in your lineup that scores less than the substitute. Think of it as a free mulligan, and an option to take a risk on a player.
For example, if you like a specific player one night but he is a game-time decision, put him into your lineups. The substitute can be his backup, or another player that you think could have an excellent night, and if your player does not play, no worries. In addition, this adds another level of strategy. On Victiv, the minimum price for a player is a lot lower than on other sites. You can afford to take risks with these cheap players, because if this player does not have an excellent game, your substitute can pick up the slack. Be sure to take advantage of this, and try Victiv today.
After you have signed up, be sure to take on Victron. This is Victiv’s computer, and if you beat it, you can win cash prizes. This is yet another way to play daily fantasy basketball.
On Victiv, you are given $50,000 in cap space to play a lineup composed of two guards, three forwards, a center, and two flex positions. As aforementioned, the substitute does not count against your cap. The scoring is as follows (taken directly from Victiv’s website):
– Point +1
– Rebound +1.25
– Assist +1.25
– Steal +2
– Block +2
– Turnover -0.5
How can we beat Victron, other players and win real money? First, sign up for Victiv here.
Second, take a look at XN Sports’ suggested plays and lineup for Victiv for tonight’s slate:
Tonight’s slate is full with game-time decisions, so stay aware before tip-off.
Value Plays
Guard
Victiv’s pricing is very sharp, so there are no cheap values at guard for today’s slate. Be prepared to spend on players like James Harden or Russell Westbrook, despite their outrageous prices.
Forward
JaKarr Sampson, Philadelphia 76ers $2,000
Sampson is the minimum-price play on Victiv today, as he has played significant minutes for the Sixers of late. Sampson has started the last few games at the two guard for Philadelphia, giving him 57 minutes in the last three games. At the bare minimum on Victiv, if Sampson can reach 10 fantasy points he will bring excellent value. In these last three games, Sampson has scored 21 points, brought down eight rebounds, has two blocks, and one steal. That comes in to about 11 fantasy points per game, giving him a chance to reach value again (if he starts) tonight against the Blazers, who have allowed opposing shooting guards to score 24 points per game this season.
Wesley Johnson, Los Angeles Lakers $4,700
With Kobe Bryant out, Johnson has assumed more of an offensive role for the Lakers offense, and has scored over 60 fantasy points in the last two games. Tonight, Johnson and the Lakers face the Dallas Mavericks, who are 29th in the NBA in defending the three, which is Johnson’s go-to shot on offense. At just $4,700, he is cheaper on Victiv than most sites, giving him even more value. If Kobe is out again tonight (likely) get Johnson into your lineups.
Center
Aron Baynes, San Antonio Spurs $3,700
No news has been released yet, but with the Spurs playing in the second leg of a back-to-back, chances are that Tim Duncan sits. When he does, Baynes is a top-flight fantasy center. When Duncan is not on the floor, Baynes has the most minutes among all Spurs with 447 this season. In these minutes, Baynes has scored 192 points and has grabbed 129 rebounds. For those keeping score at home, that comes out to 15.46 points and 10.39 rebounds per 36 minutes. In the last two games where Duncan has sat, Baynes has played 31 and 32 minutes respectively. If Duncan is out, Baynes is a must-play.
