Rex Grossman Turns Down Browns’ Payday to Go Kite Surfing

Rex Grossman

With Johnny Manziel and Brian Hoyer injured, the Cleveland Browns are desperate to find quarterback help for the final week of the season.

With Rex Grossman out of a job, the Browns thought the veteran passer would be a no-brainer.

Except Rex has other plans.

Rather than get a $53,000 payday for one day’s work, and get his first game action since 2011, Grossman told management he intends to spend his Christmas week kite surfing.

The Browns are expected to sign Tyler Thigpen instead.
