XN Sports is introducing a new daily fantasy site called Victiv, which has one of the best features in all of daily fantasy, in addition to a sleek design, and a few ways to play daily fantasy basketball.
Victiv has what is called a substitution position, which you can learn more about on the site. Essentially, it’s one extra position for under $5,000 (does not affect your salary cap) where you can select a bench player. This player will come in handy, as it replaces anyone in your lineup that scores less than the substitute. Think of it as a free mulligan, and an option to take a risk on a player.
For example, if you like a specific player one night but he is a game-time decision, put him into your lineups. The substitute can be his backup, or another player that you think could have an excellent night, and if your player does not play, no worries. In addition, this adds another level of strategy. On Victiv, the minimum price for a player is a lot lower than on other sites. You can afford to take risks with these cheap players, because if this player does not have an excellent game, your substitute can pick up the slack. Be sure to take advantage of this, and try Victiv today.
After you have signed up, be sure to take on Victron. This is Victiv’s computer, and if you beat it, you can win cash prizes. This is yet another way to play daily fantasy basketball.
On Victiv, you are given $50,000 in cap space to play a lineup composed of two guards, three forwards, a center, and two flex positions. As aforementioned, the substitute does not count against your cap. The scoring is as follows (taken directly from Victiv’s website):
– Point +1
– Rebound +1.25
– Assist +1.25
– Steal +2
– Block +2
– Turnover -0.5
How can we beat Victron, other players and win real money? First, sign up for Victiv here.
Second, take a look at XN Sports’ suggested plays and lineup for Victiv for tonight’s slate:
Guard
Alan Anderson, $2,800
Anderson will likely start again tonight for the Nets, which gives him value on Victiv for under $3,000 against the cap. Last game, Anderson played 32 minutes, but only scored six points. For a guard, that’s an anomaly for points scored, so Anderson should see an increase in scoring for the Nets tonight, especially with Brook Lopez out. At under $3,000, anything over 15 fantasy points is excellent value, and Anderson has a high chance to reach it as a starting guard, despite the matchup against the Bulls, who are notoriously a good defensive team (on paper).
Forward
Luke Babbitt $2,200
Babbitt’s price is so low, that is is almost a must play on Victiv. You read that correctly. Remember on Victiv, there is a free sub option so if Babbitt fails to perform to his value, a substitute is able to take his production and improve it. Babbitt is the starter at small forward for the Pelicans, and at his price he is worth starting simply because he is a starting NBA player and will play anywhere from 15-20 minutes. Two baskets, two rebounds and an assist is enough to reach value at this price, but he has a chance to add to that against the Mavericks, who rank among the lowest in the NBA in most defensive categories, including dead last in three point percentage against, which is Babbitt’s niche.
Center
With a few injuries and chances for guys to sit tonight, keep an eye on the lineup news before lineup lock. Here are a few cheap plays that could be huge values if the stars align:
Jerome Jordan $3,300 – Brook Lopez is out, and Jordan will see the bulk of the minutes at center.
Festus Ezeli $2,600 – If Andrew Bogut doesn’t play, he is the backup center for the Warriors and will see 20 or more minutes.
Aron Baynes $4,200 – If Tim Duncan does not play, he could sit in a back-to-back.
Lineup
G – Wesley Matthews $6,500
G – Jrue Holiday $7,900
F – Taj Gibson $5,500
F – Tyreke Evans $7,000
F – LaMarcus Aldrige $10,500
C – Jerome Jordan $3,300
FLEX – Luke Babbitt $2,200
FLEX – Derrick Rose $6,800
