Daily Fantasy Basketball is back, which means each day XN Sports will have a column detailing advised plays and lineups for the remainder of the NBA season. For those familiar with DraftKings, their daily fantasy basketball is formatted differently this season. There is no multi-position eligibility, which makes it a bit harder to set your lineup.
For those unfamiliar with DraftKings, you are given $50,000 in cap space to select a point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward, center, a guard, a forward, and a utility player. There are no points deducted for missed shots, which changes the strategy from other sites. To read the full scoring, click here. Keep in mind that a double-double awards a bonus, which can be the difference between cashing in and winning nothing.
Generally, the goal for value is at five times a player’s salary. That brings a lineup to 250 fantasy points, which will cash on most days.

Value Plays
Guard
Ramon Sessions vs. UTA ($3,700): Sessions faces the Jazz tonight, who are giving up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing point guards on the year. Sessions needs just 18.5 fantasy points to reach good value but has actually posted 24.5+ fantasy points in two of his last three games. Look for Sessions to exceed his value against the Jazz backcourt again tonight.

Forward
Jason Thompson vs. UTA ($4,300): Thompson has now played 70 minutes in the last two games, thanks to DeMarcus Cousins sitting out with an illness. Cousins won’t be back tonight which makes Thompson a must-have. Thompson needs just 21.5 fantasy points to reach value but has posted 25.5 FPS and 34.75 FPS with Cousins not in the lineup. That shouldn’t be too hard against a Jazz team giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards.

Center
I would spend some money on a center tonight, there’s plenty of value plays at the other positions.
