Harbaugh could be on the move?
One of the biggest stories to break Sunday morning is something we’ve heard whispers about all throughout the season dating back to training camp. San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh is “all but certain to be coaching elsewhere next season,” CBS Sports reported. There’s been reported tension between the coach, owner and general manager, and it’s looking more and more likely the three cannot co-exist together in the Bay Area beyond this season.
The 49ers are on the verge of missing the playoffs for the first time under Harbaugh, and as I wrote after Thanksgiving, his decision to move forward with Colin Kaepernick under center doesn’t appear to have been the correct move.
CBS Sports named defensive line coach Jim Tomsula, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase as likely replacements.
Meanwhile, ESPN suggested a different Bay Area team — the Raiders — are the favorites to trade for the maligned head coach. In addition, the Jets are monitoring the situation.
