5 Takeaways From Week 13 In The NFL

Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers leads Pack past Patriots

It was billed as the unstoppable force versus the immovable object, and the Packers’ dominant offense proved to be too much, snapping the Patriots’ seven-game win streak with a 26-21 win at Lambeau Field.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 368 yards and two touchdowns, leading Green Bay to a 13-0 first-quarter lead and a nine-point lead at the half. Arguably the biggest moment of the game was after Brandon LaFell caught a two-yard touchdown with 1:09 left in the second quarter, Rodgers answered right back with a five-play, 81-yard drive capped by a 45-yard touchdown to Jordy Nelson, who raced past Darrelle Revis as Green Bay re-took the lead for good in the game.

This was an excellent football game, but at this point in the season it only has ramifications in terms of playoff seeding. Thirteen weeks in, this is still the most probable of Super Bowl matchups, with the Patriots and Packers each proving to be the class of their respective conferences over the last two months. Nobody would hate to see Rodgers and Tom Brady line up again two months from now in Phoenix.
