It’s one of those rare occasions without a team on a back to back, and it’s a relatively heavy night for a Monday, even with just four games. It’s also a night where Covers Experts has the New York Islanders as the biggest favorite of the night at -160. That line has been moving towards the Islanders, by the way.
Goaltenders tonight look to be a bit tough because of the lack of an overwhelming favorite. Jaroslav Halak has put up very good numbers of late, and the Bruins will be without David Krejci again tonight. That would seem to put Marc-Andre Fleury in a good position tonight. It seems like a good night to diversify goaltending in cash games.

As always, check Left Wing Lock for goalie confirmations.
Players will be in order of perceived value, by position, and there should be enough to mix-and-match for each type of game available on Draft Kings. Some positions might only have a few plays, some might have several. It all depends on the day, the matchups, and the price.
Remember: players are in order of value, not necessarily in cost. Just because Sidney Crosby is $8000 one day doesn’t mean he’s a better value than Andrew Shaw at $4000.

- Tavares seems like an almost automatic play. Though with Malkin not much more expensive though, he’s not a bad option for people trying to avoid that big ownership rate.
- Frans Nielsen is another good center option because of his power play time.
- With most expensive wingers avoidable tonight, and a short slate, it’s not a bad night to spend a bit more on defensemen. There’s a few with good matchups that aren’t exorbitant.

- Again, the Islanders should be among the popular picks tonight. In that sense, maybe picking from their depth plays is a good way to get a piece of that game but avoid the expensive options.
- Like in cash games, there’s not much need to really spend on a lot on wingers tonight, and the difference can be made up among the defencemen.
- Niklas Backstrom starting for Minnesota is a big boost for the Florida Panthers, even if it’s not a very good matchup for them anyway.
Slim’s Pickins (bargain plays)
Erik Haula (MIN-C, $2600) – Cheap centers are a wasteland tonight. Erik Haula is one who gets some penalty kill time.
Jason Zucker (MIN-W, $2800) – Part of a pretty good third line for Minnesota. In all likelihood, if I take anyone from Minnesota, it’s their cheap players.
Matt Dumba (MIN-D, $2900) – Dumba is pretty talented, and is starting to get a bit of power play time.
Good luck!
