Defending champs hand Arizona a rare loss, stay alive in the West
Arizona entered its pivotal NFC West showdown with Seattle with an NFL-best 9-1 record, but the defending champions flexed their muscle at CenturyLink Field and mustered up a season-saving victory with a 19-3 defeat of their division rivals.
So much for the talk of the demise of the Legion of Boom. The Seahawks held the Cardinals to three points, picking off Drew Stanton and limiting the Arizona offense to 3-of-12 on third-downs, 64 yards rushing, and winning the time of possession battle.
The loss marked the first for the Cardinals against an NFC opponent this season.
Seattle, which has won four of its past five games, is now two games behind Arizona in the divisional standings, with a tie-breaker against the 7-4 49ers.
