Daily Fantasy Hockey: DFS DraftKings Values – October 28

Nazem Kadri

Montreal and Minnesota are the only teams that played last night that are also playing tonight. That doesn’t make them great targets, though – Montreal gets a good matchup with Calgary while Minnesota is probably one of the best teams in the NHL (last night’s third period aside).

It’s a big slate, which means lots of good values. Vancouver is the biggest favorite tonight (via Covers Experts) but there are good goaltender values in other places as well. The lines have been changed in Tampa Bay and Toronto which makes some of the new line mates good values, but a double-edged sword – there’s always concerns about chemistry out of the gate.

Play Daily Fantasy Hockey on DraftKings Tonight!

As always, check Left Wing Lock for goalie confirmations.

Players will be in order of perceived value, by position, and there should be enough to mix-and-match for each type of game available on DraftKings. Some positions might only have a few plays, some might have several. It all depends on the day, the matchups, and the price.

Remember: players are in order of value, not necessarily in cost. Just because Sidney Crosby is $8000 one day doesn’t mean he’s a better value than Andrew Shaw at $4000.

Cash Games

Center Wing Defense Goalie
Kadri (TOR) – $3900 Pearson (LAK) – $4000 Stralman (TBL) – $3500 Bernier (TOR) – $6300
  1. Sedin (VAN) – $4800
Okposo (NYI) – $6800 Visnovsky (NYI) – $3400 Miller (VAN) – $7900
Stamkos (TBL) – $8000 Vrbata (VAN) – $6800 Martinez (LAK) – $3300 Bishop (TBL) – $7300
Shaw (CHI) – $4100 Hornqvist (PIT) – $7300 Franson (TOR) – $3600
Thornton (SJS) – $4900 Kessel (TOR) – $7500 Doughty (LAK) – $4600
Tavares (NYI) – $7500 Hertl (SJS) – $3500 Demers (SJS) – $3000
Carter (LAK) – $6700 Toffoli (LAK) – $6100
Lee (NYI) – $3800 Byfuglien (WPG) – $5400
Johansen (CBJ) – $6600

  • The line shuffle in Toronto brings a lot of value to Nazem Kadri.
  • Carolina is starting Cam Ward tonight, and though Eric Staal returns for the Hurricanes, it should be full-steam ahead for the top-tier guys for Vancouver.
  • Tampa Bay has too good of a matchup to pass on.
  • I would be hesitant about the Kings tonight. No Kopitar in the lineup for them means the Sean Couturier line for Philly can key on Carter/Toffoli/Pearson.

Couture (SJS) – $7300

  • Toronto is just too tantalizing to pass up, but for some weird reason I feel nervous.
  • Vancouver is relatively cheap given their matchup tonight. I like it a lot.
  • I think Dallas could make a decent target tonight. Hopefully, their top line can escape the David Backes matchup, and get matched against the depth of the Blues. With that ailment going around the St. Louis dressing room, there’s no telling how healthy they really are.
  • I’ll be hard-pressed to leave Hornqvist off of any lineup tonight.

Slim’s Pickins (bargain plays)

Jori Lehtera (STL-C, $2900) – Still a cheap price on a good team with power play time.

Blake Comeau (PIT-W, $2800) – The second line has been shuffled, and that’s put Comeau alongside Evgeni Malkin.

Mirco Mueller (SJS-D, $2600) – Tertiary matchups against Colorado is a pretty good spot for Mueller.

Good luck!
