Grading The MLB Trade Deadline

Boston Red Sox shortstop Stephen Drew

New York Yankees – The reality of the mediocre record indicates that maybe the Yankees should sell but that’s not how they operate. They had clear needs in right field after Alfonso Soriano was released and after Ichiro Suzuki was exposed by playing every day. That’s where Martin Prado comes in and he is hitting .270 while also being able to play multiple positions. Additionally the Yankees also obtained Stephen Drew from the Red Sox. While his bat has been terrible, Drew’s glove is an upgrade over Brian Roberts, who is an ex-Yankee after making 10 errors. Grade B+
