New York Mets (Matsuzaka) at Miami Marlins (Alvarez)
Matsuzaka is a pass. Also, I’m not really keen on the Mets hitters in this one. Going back a week, the Mets have scored 11 runs in their last six games. Going into Miami to face Alvarez doesn’t exactly make me think they light it up tonight.
Alvarez’s three June starts have resulted in three earned runs and 16 strikeouts to just two walks in 21.1 innings pitched. Now, his last five starts have been against some relatively weak hitting teams (Rays, Cubs, Phillies are mixed in there) but hey, this is the Mets. I like how far Garrett Jones’ price has dropped but might shy away from Stanton tonight.
Henderson Alvarez (SP) – $15,700
Garrett Jones (1B) – $4771
