New York Yankees (Tanaka) at Seattle Mariners (Young)
After going seven innings six times in his first eight starts, Tanaka hasn’t gone seven in three of his last four. Everything else is still very good but if I’m paying nearly 25-percent of my salary for a pitcher, he needs to go longer than six innings. I’ll stay away for tonight. It might not be a bad night to take a gamble on some Yankees that haven’t been swinging a particularly solid bat lately, though. Young isn’t exactly a lights-out righty.
Brett Gardner (OF) – $6234
Carlos Beltran (OF) – $5181
Kelly Johnson (1B) – $3657
Seattle is just avoidable tonight. The bats are a no-go against Tanaka and Young is an even bigger no-go than that.
