The Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers needed overtime to decide Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. From there, the Kings turned to Justin Williams.
Tied at 2-2 and 4:36 into the overtime period, Williams intercepted a pass by Dan Girardi then put it in the back of the Rangers’ net as Los Angeles won, 3-2, and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
If you thought Williams and his Kings teammates got excited, just wait to see how the crowd at Chavez Ravine reacted.
When the fans at nearby Los Angeles Dodgers game got word that their Kings took Game 1 of the Cup Finals, they, too, took the time to celebrate in necessary fashion.
