St. Louis Blues at Chicago Blackhawks
Goaltending was the difference in Game 3 between these two teams and to the surprise of some, it was Chicago’s goaltending that held strong. Corey Crawford has been excellent for the Blackhawks so far this series, posting a .932 save percentage through three games. Ryan Miller has been pretty good at .926, but his soft first goal in Game 3 proved to be the difference for the Blues.
This series has been a barn burner as the first two games went to overtime while the third game was 1-0 pretty much throughout, right until the empty netter. Picking a side in this series to stack is a bit ludicrous, in my opinion, so I will be avoiding that at least for tonight.
It appears as though David Backes will be making his return to the Blues lineup, giving the team a healthy-ish lineup for the first time in a very long time. Concern for Backes’ health aside, this is going to be the best Blues team that they’ve had together in a lineup since the Olympic break.
I think this is another close game but how many goals is a bit uncertain. Both goalies have played pretty well this series so I’ll just expect a typical 3-2 game and just pick from both sides for 50/50s. I would avoid the goaltenders, though, as I’m not sure which side gets the win in this one.
