Anaheim Ducks at Dallas Stars
One problem the Ducks are running into this series is that they have given 14 power play opportunities to the Stars in the first three games (and the Stars have given Anaheim 13 in return). Each team has converted just two of these chances, but if one team starts getting scorching hot on the power play, it could bury either team. I would watch tonight to see how undisciplined each team is.
Each team has asserted their dominance at different times of the series so far so it’s not clear who the better team is just yet. Last game we saw something Dallas do that Anaheim probably cannot do, and that’s have a dominating goaltending performance. Kari Lehtonen saved all 37 shots for the shutout and I don’t think Frederik Andersen has that type of performance in him.
The Seguin line and the Getzlaf line remain separate from each other, but I would have to say that the depth players of the Stars are really starting to antagonize the stars of Anaheim. We saw guys like Garbutt and Roussel really get in the face of Anaheim’s top players and if they’re focused on them and not scoring, the Stars are coming out ahead.
The loss of Ducks defenseman Stephane Robidas to a broken leg is huge as he’s a veteran defenseman who can eat a lot of minutes. For this game tonight, I’ll lean to the Stars and Kari Lehtonen in net. I don’t know that I’d stack them outright, but can’t argue with those who do.
