Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – April 22

Montreal Canadiens right wing Brendan Gallagher

New York Rangers at Philadelphia Flyers

The Rangers split at home but the difference in the two games were special teams: Whichever team has scored two power play goals in a game has won that game in the series. Newsflash, giving away easy goals to the other team is a great way to lose games.

The Rangers have had the better part of the play for most of the first two games but fell on the wrong side of Game 2. Let’s face it, they’ve outshot the Flyers 69-40, had 12 power plays to the Flyers’ four power plays, and most of the way have generally controlled the play. They have had their mental lapses and it’s cost them so far.

The Flyers have been leaning on their depth players for scoring but if they hope to really stay in this series, they’ll need contributions from their top line. Until I see that happen, it’ll be their depth players in my DFS lineups and avoiding the Giroux line.

The first two games have thrown me off a bit. I’d almost feel better about stacking the Flyers had they lost both of the first two games. I’ll just take some depth players from either side for my 50/50s or to help fill out GPPs.
