Daily Fantasy Baseball DFS Value Update and Lineup – April 22

Rajai Davis

Cincinnati Reds (Cueto) at Pittsburgh Pirates (Volquez)

Johnny Cueto has been his dominant self so far this year, and then some; Cueto is striking out over 10 batters per nine innings, a rate he’s never seen in his career. There are different reasons for this, but for the moment being, I’m using him every start until he falters. As weird as this sounds, with the way Volquez has started his season, I would avoid Reds hitters for now.

Johnny Cueto (SP) – $20,494

Edinson Volquez has looked like the Volquez that has appeared in (very) short spurts over the years. He’s found more control of the plate (somewhat) and it has led to being a better pitcher (maybe). I just don’t know what to make of him right now so I’d rather just use him for GPPs because his price is still so low. I will stay away from all Pirates hitters against Cueto, though.
