Anaheim Ducks at Dallas Stars – ANA Leads 2-0
The Ducks are ahead 2-0 but the series has been pretty close. Each game was a one-goal game, and the Ducks nearly blew a 4-0 lead in Game 1. The series has been close both in goals and in underlying numbers, so I do think this series takes a turn in Dallas.
Dallas was 20th in goals against at home this year but that number climbs all the way to 5th-most when talking about games on the road. There is also a bit of a discrepancy in home/road goal scoring (10th to 15th). In short, like most teams, Dallas was considerably better at home than they were on the road. In fact, they beat Anaheim at home 6-3 this year (also once in Anaheim as well).
If there were one game I would look at today for stacking, it would be the top line in Dallas in this one. The prices have dropped a bit because they haven’t produced a lot yet this series so it’s not too hard to fit them into the lineup. I would also be using Kari Lehtonen in net for my games.
A few notes so far in this series:
Dallas coach Lindy Ruff has been pulling the “Let the players pick their lines” in morning skates. This means we don’t have a read on who is playing with who in the games until the games start. Besides Benn/Seguin, I wouldn’t assume anything… Anaheim’s Matt Beleskey continues to be out for the Ducks, Devante Smith-Pelley has been his replacement on the top line in Anaheim… Mathieu Perreault and Patrick Maroon continue to be the two extra forwards on Anaheim’s top PP unit.
