Boston Red Sox (Buchholz) at Chicago White Sox (Danks)
Buchholz has had a funny season so far. His ERA is nearly 7.00, but his xFIP (expected ERA with a normal home run rate) is under 3.00. He’s going to visit a team that has the third-most home runs in baseball so far this year. If he can keep the ball in the yard, he should do very well. As a mid-range pitcher, I don’t mind him tonight.
Clay Buchholz (SP) – $15,479
Jonny Gomes (OF) – $5642
I’ll avoid Danks against the White Sox but their hitters are an interesting proposition. All the things I said about Buchholz could mean a big game for the Sox if they continue their hot streak. Some of the hitters’ prices are far from exorbitant, too, so give me a couple of their hitters if Buchholz isn’t in my lineup.
Adam Dunn (1B) – $5912
Marcus Semien (SS) – $5595
