Anaheim Ducks at Los Angeles Kings
Anaheim has had a very, very easy schedule of late as only two of their previous twelve games has been against a playoff team, and both those games were against San Jose. The team has won a lot of games in the meantime, but against the competition they had, it’s to be expected. The team has already locked up first in the division but they can also put a near-lock on the top spot in the conference with any kind of win tonight. There should be a good effort from this team tonight. One problem of late has been the power play, as they have converted just once in their previous 15 chances over their last five games.
This is the Kings’ last game of the season and seeing as they can’t move up or down in the standings regardless of what happens around them, I wonder if they start all their studs tonight. This is tough because there’s a decent chance that the final decisions aren’t made until close to game time and all lineups will have locked by that point. The Kopitar line has been very solid of late, while Slava Voynov has put up a mini three-game point streak with one goal and three assists in the meantime. There is a decent chance that a few of these guys don’t play tonight, though.
Anaheim has three regulation wins over the Kings this year while Los Angeles holds just one shootout win. Those four games have seen just 13 goals scored in total so this one probably won’t be ideal to stack either side. Depending on the lineups, I will lean the Ducks here in this one and am confident with whoever they start in goal.
