Detroit Tigers (Verlander) at San Diego Padres (Kennedy)
Justin Verlander is near the top of the price list today and for good reason; he did look like the Verlander of old in his first couple of starts but the strikeouts aren’t back yet. Until I see the strikeouts come back, I don’t know if I can pay his price. The prices are pretty high for the hitters, too, seeing as they’re playing in San Diego.
Austin Jackson (OF) – $6395
I’m not starting Ian Kennedy against the Tigers, he is not Andrew Cashner. They have a lot of cheap hitters because of Verlander, though, in case there are players out there that are looking for decent options to help make stacks work elsewhere.
