Washington Nationals (Roark) at Atlanta Braves (Teheran)
Tanner Roark hasn’t faced much of the Braves in his career, but he did start once against them last year (with two other appearances) for 13 innings pitched. In those 13 innings, Roark managed zero earned runs against and 12 strikeouts. Considering his price, the Braves’ propensity for striking out, and Roark’s low price, I will be tempted to use him a lot today. I would avoid most of their hitters against Julio Teheran, though.
Tanner Roark (SP) – $12,789
Anthony Rendon (2B) – $5779
I would probably avoid most Braves hitters tonight because I think Roark can do a good job of shutting them down. I don’t mind starting Julio Teheran either, but I would probably just rather use Roark out of this game.
