Ottawa Senators at New York Islanders
This one promises to be defense-and-goaltending optional.
These two teams met a week ago and the final was a 2-1 game that would seem to counter the thought of a high-scoring game tonight. I would say that all three goals in that game were scored on the power play (mind you, both teams are in the bottom seven teams in PK efficiency this year) and that seeing another game without at least three even strength goals is pretty unlikely; these two teams met back in November and there were 88 shots on goal, eight goals, and none of them on the power play.
These two teams are averaging 34.8 shots on goal each over their last three games. If this game features 80 shots like the one in November, there should be lots of goals to pick from. I would avoid stacking either side in GPP games today because the plus/minus concerns are real. I do like some of the values on both sides, though.
A couple of guys to keep an eye on are Matt Donovan and Patrick Wiercioch. Both players have seen time in previous games on the respective top power play units and neither player is excessively priced.
