Chicago White Sox (Sale) at Kansas City Royals (Shields)
For his career, Sale owns a 3.29 ERA when pitching in Kansas City and that’s a pretty good mark for most pitchers. What worries me is the 1.28 WHIP that has gone along with that. Even if he only gives up a couple of earned runs, the WHIP could kill his value, especially if he doesn’t get the win. He’s not a terrible start, but I’d rather other guys at similar prices.
Alexei Ramirez (SS) – $5562
James Shields ripped apart the White Sox last year to the tune of nine earned runs in six starts and the only thing that’s really changed in the lineup is Jose Abreu. I’m not going to over-think this one and think Abreu changes everything. I like Shields in this one.
Billy Butler (DH) – $5550
James Shields (SP) – $18,630
